|Duties||Internships support both the Compliance and Conservation Sections within the Environmental Management Office. As such, GIS/GPS duties will vary depending on mission priorities. As an Environmental GIS Intern you will gain experience through activities such as field data collection, importation of GPS data into GIS, maintaining large geographic data sets, creating custom cartographic products for customers, and raising general awareness of GIS by representing the program at various sites across the state during mission travel. Other responsibilities may include generating metadata, supporting staff with their mapping needs, database editing and assisting with other duties as assigned.|
|Qualifications||A background in GIS or GPS and knowledge of ESRI ArcGIS products is desired. Experience with the military, GIS applications, GPS principles, CADD integration, web development, fish and wildlife management, ecology and/or wetlands is preferred but not required. The qualified applicant will be a self-motivated, conscientious individual with above average problem solving skills who can work independently with minimal supervision as well as communicate closely with staff.|
|$13.00 - $15.00 an hour|
